Lab - jQuery

  1. See how I modify the style for links to Wikipedia, Google search, and other user-generated (and maybe unreliable) content.
  2. I do not do it manually when adding links. I get JS to do it on page load.
  3. It makes use of jQuery.

  4. See "user-generated content" section in footer.js included on every page.

  5. It adds a CSS class to links. See my CSS file.
  6. Adapt this to your own site.
  7. Pick certain links and get JS to find them at page load and modify their style.

  8. Notes:

On the Internet since 1987.

Wikipedia: Sometimes I link to Wikipedia. I have written something In defence of Wikipedia. It is often a useful starting point but you cannot trust it. Linking to it is like linking to a Google search. A starting point, not a destination. I automatically highlight in red all links to Wikipedia and Google search and other possibly-unreliable user-generated content.
