Best paper award for Software Process Research


Paul Clarke (Lero funded  PhD researcher) and Dr. Rory O'Connor won the best Paper award at 18th European Software Process Improvement Conference (EuroSPI 2011) in Denmark last week.

The award was for their  paper titled "The Meaning of Success for Software SMEs: An Holistic Scorecard Based Approach". As part of the award, they are asked to present this work at the 23rd Quality Management Conference in the USA next year.

Workshop on Semantic Search over the Web (SSW 2011)

SSW 2011As part of the 23rd International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering, CAiSE 2011, two staff at DCU’s School of Computing, Paolo Cappellari and Mark Roantree, together with a colleague at University Roma Tre, Roberto De Virgilio, organised the first workshop on Semantic Search over the Web (SSW 2011). The SSW workshop was to provide a forum for discussion and advancement of data management in searching web, and in relationships with semantic web technologies that propose new models, languages and applications.

The 2011 EMEA Best Student Recognition Event  will bring together at IBM La Gaude, France, the top students from across Europe, Middle East and Africa, for a three day event on July 6-8, 2011. Congratulations to Jennifer Flynn, School of Computing student who has accepted IBM's invitation.
