The Intel Ireland Product Development Engineering group is looking for motivated engineers to support its expanding operations for an 11 month fixed term contract. The charter of the PDE team is to deliver leading edge test solutions for Intel integrated circuit products. The product development engineers in this team work with Intel Design and Development teams worldwide to develop functional and structural test content for Intel integrated circuit products.  Main focus will be on developing and sustaining test programs by working with Design Engineers and Yield Engineers to achieve the test content, test-time and test quality objectives. 

The role includes measuring test effectiveness, evaluating and recommending new Design For Testability (DFT) features and test pattern development. As part of your role, you may need to validate test fault coverage models, run and improve these models, support and enhance the tools that perform these functions and/or develop software projects to implement new and better methodologies. You will also need to develop plans to mitigate yield risks, drive changes to test methods or design, and establish processes to resolve high volume manufacturing issues in an accelerated time.

Responsibilities will include working in pre-silicon and post-silicon phases of Intel's semiconductor products to drive product performance and to meet product cost, quality and time-to-market goals.  Pre-silicon responsibilities cover working with Design, Design Validation and our factories to understand designs, test methodologies and manufacturing flows. Post-silicon responsibilities include analysis of yield sighting, driving yield resolutions, test time reduction and general sustaining support   


This is an 11 month internship opportunity. The candidate must either be a recent college graduate who has a relevant Masters level qualification or honours Bachelors (graduated within the last 12 months) or a current student engaged in a relevant Masters/Bachelors program (e.g. B.Eng, B.Sc) expecting to graduate in 2013 in a Science or Engineering discipline (which would include but not exclusively, Electronic Eng., Computer Science or Applied Physics etc.). Qualification should be at minimum of Level 8 in the NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications ) or equivalent.  You should possess and have demonstrated strong software skills (C/C++, Perl, SQL). The ability to work well in a team environment, with excellent communication skills is a must. You must have strong planning and logical problem solving skills.
