JUNIOR HELPDESK SUPPORT ENGINEER

 

Location:Dublin City Centre

Type:Permanent Fulltime

Salary:Circa €20,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

supportIT is a leading IT support and consultancy company providing reliable, innovation IT solutions to clients in the SME and charity sectors throughout Dublin and the surrounding areas.

 

Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a junior helpdesk engineer to work with an existing team providing level 1 technical support to our clients.

 

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Level 1 phone, email and remote support
  • Diagnose and resolve issues
  • Recording and updating calls in call management system
  • Monthly client server checks
  • Client administration
  • Software installation
  • Researching new tools and technologies
  • Maintaining a knowledge base
  • Transferring calls to field engineers if the problem is more serious/level 2 or above
  • Other Ad hoc duties


Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

 

  • A recent graduate, third level certification

 

  • The person should:
    • Have An ability to think logically
    • Have good analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Have good interpersonal and customer care skills
    • Have an excellent attention to detail and be good at keeping records
    • Have a strong aptitude for learning

 

  • Be aware of/have some working knowledge of:

-    Computer Hardware: Desktops, Laptops, Servers, Switches and Routers.

-    Software: Small Business Server, MS Office, MS Exchange 2003/2008,  

     Windows Server 2003/2008.

-    Anti-virus and hosting solutions

-    Backup and Recovery technology

-    Virtualisation solutions (Hyper V)

  • The person should have an ambition to work with the latest technologies and further develop their technical skills
