An opportunity exists for a Graduate to join our team in Dublin on a graduate training program working as a Trainee Business / Systems Analyst.  A tailored training program will be provided to the right candidate.

During the program, experience will be provided across a variety of technologies in both our Projects and Support teams.  This role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to start their career in an international financial services company. To be successful, the right candidate will be confident, driven, self motivated, a great communicator, and able to define and translate business requirements into IT solutions that deliver the required business outcomes.

 Chartis is a world leader in General Insurance with operations in more than 150 countries and jurisdictions and is a member company of AIG, a leading provider of insurance, retirement, financial and asset management services around the world.  

 Chartis Europe SA is the General Insurance division in Continental Europe and the Dublin operation provides a centralized IT service to 26 countries in continental Europe, in partnership with offshore Chartis entities.  

 The Dublin based IT Services operation manages delivery of all IT services for Chartis European operations, the business environment is complex and challenging, and involves large scale systems integration activities across multiple locations in Europe and globally.

 The following is the outline specification for the Business Analyst role;

 Job Purpose:

  • Identify, define and deliver business improvement opportunities through analysis and critical reasoning.  Build in depth understanding of products, processes, systems and market practices to support business plan execution, whether business as usual or transformation related.  Lead the business facing project lifecycle phases including Requirement Definition and User Solution Reviews.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Gather systems and process requirements, analyze to understand and minimize unnecessary variation, document to allow business partners prioritize and verify requirements
  • Channel business input to solution design and validate against business objectives, provide input to cost benefit analysis and business case definition
  • Ensure solutions are consistent with operational and technology best practice in Europe
  • Coordinate and lead business reviews of process and system solution design, development and test phases, including formal review and approvals if necessary
  • Prepare and execute business implementation plans including training, user testing and change control management
  • Build effective working relationshipswith business partners and across the project team at all levels to aid effective collaboration and communication

 

Skills / Competencies Required:

  • Excellent communication skills required
  • High levels of enthusiasm, commitment, and energy required
  • Knowledge of European languages an advantage
  • Must be flexible to travel within Europe as and when required (limited duration)
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office required, MS SQL experience preferable
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

 

Experience Required:

  • Primary or Secondary degree in a related discipline, e.g. Business Information Systems
  • Prior experience in General Insurance or Financial Services an advantage

  • Insurance Institute of Ireland entry level examinations
  • Other tailored skills training as required
